Course Description
Welcome to the Old Testament Survey!!!
The study of The Old Testament is essential for a complete biblical understanding of God’s Word. The OT makes up about three-quarters a progressive story and you will not fully understand God’s holiness, justice, patience or the need for the Messiah, if you skip this portion of the Bible. The Old Testament reveals the origins of core concepts like creation, the fall, covenant, redemption, and all the things needed to fully comprehend the teachings of Christ, as it also offers the foundational understanding of the New Testament explained.
This 8 week course will…
· Break down the 39 canonical books chronologically from Creation to Malachi.
· Identify the authorship, date and review the main core message of all Old Testament books.
· Construct a chronological timeline of major events and characters
· Touch on the covenants
· Trace redemptive themes and Messianic expectations.
The study of OT scriptures is deeply beneficial for the Christian faith as you will encounter God’s Character, real life lessons with examples and preparedness for the return of The Messiah.
